SYMPTOM POSSIBLE CAUSES ACTION
Liquid or vapor electrolyte emission from the hybrid/EV battery pack vent
  • Hybrid/EV battery internal failure - Cell(s) damaged/overheating
  • Hybrid/EV battery overcharging
  • Refer to the repair information WARNINGS
Electric vehicle warning indicator illuminated
  • Electric vehicle system fault
  • Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, check the following control modules for related DTCs and refer to the relevant DTC indexes:
    • Battery charger control module
    • Battery energy control module
    • Brake booster module
    • Direct current to direct current converter
    • Electric power inverter converter module
    • Powertrain control module
    • Transmission control module
NOTE: The hybrid electric vehicle battery pack has a stand alone cooling system.

  • Coolant hoses
  • Hybrid/EV battery cooler and isolation valve
  • Hybrid/EV battery coolant pump
  • Hybrid/EV battery pack internal leak
WARNING: The hybrid/EV battery pack casing must not be disassembled due to the risk of exposure to hazardous voltage. Failure to comply with this instruction may result in personal injury or death.
  • Refer to the relevant article of the repair information and check the cooling system. Repair the leak as necessary
NOTE: The electric power inverter converter cooling system is incorporated into the engine cooling system.

  • Electric power inverter converter coolant pump
  • Electric power inverter converter internal coolant leak
WARNING: The electric power inverter converter casing must not be disassembled due to the risk of exposure to hazardous voltage. Failure to comply with this instruction may result in personal injury or death.
  • Refer to the relevant article of the repair information and check the cooling system. Repair the leak as necessary
NOTE: The motor generator cooling system is incorporated into the engine cooling system.
