MHEV Battery Disconnect And Connect (G2328507): Disconnection

CAUTION: Make sure there are no foreign objects or tools left in the area of the MHEV battery during or after following this procedure.

NOTE:

This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.

Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: SPECIFICATIONS
Remove the MHEV battery breather hose.
Refer to: MHEV BATTERY BREATHER HOSE

Disconnect the electrical connector.
WARNING: If the measured voltage exceeds 0 Volts +/- 1 Volt a fault may be present with the MHEV battery.

Check the voltage at the MHEV battery negative and positive terminals.

Reposition the MHEV battery negative terminal cover.

- Remove the nut.
- Disconnect the MHEV battery negative cable.

Reposition the MHEV battery positive terminal cover.

- Remove the nut.
- Disconnect the MHEV battery positive cable.
