Startup Battery Cables

NOTE: Right Hand Drive (RHD) vehicle is shown, Left Hand Drive (LHD) vehicle is similar.

ITEM DESCRIPTION
1 Jump start terminal (positive)
2 Startup battery cable (positive) from the startup battery busbar to the jump start terminal
3 Startup battery cable (positive) from the startup battery busbar to the starter motor
4 Startup battery cable - Direct Current to Direct Current (DC/DC) converter to the startup battery busbar
5 Ground cable from the DC/DC converter busbar to a vehicle body ground connection
6 Startup battery busbar (positive)
7 Battery Junction Box (BJB)
8 Rear Junction Box (RJB)
9 Startup battery cable (positive) from the startup battery to the BJB
10 Ground cable from the Battery Monitoring System (BMS) control module to the vehicle body ground connection
11 Startup battery cable (positive) from the BJB to the startup battery busbar
12 Startup battery busbar terminal
13 Startup battery
14 Main wiring harness
15 DC/DC converter busbar
16 DC/DC converter
17 Passenger Junction Box (PJB)
18 Body Control Module/Gateway Module (BCM/GWM)
19 Auxiliary Junction Box (AJB)
20 Engine Junction Box (EJB)
21 Starter motor
22 Ground cable from the engine to a vehicle body ground connection
23 Startup battery cable (positive) from the startup battery busbar to the starter motor
24 Jump start terminal (ground)
25 Junction box (positive) - Connection for the startup battery busbar and the startup cables to the starter motor and the jump start terminal (positive)

The startup battery cables (positive) are for the high current connections between the following:

The startup battery cables (positive) from the BJB to the other junction boxes and modules are all in the main wiring harness.

The startup battery busbar connects to the following components through battery startup cables:

The ground cables provide the ground connections for all electrical systems to the vehicle body.
