| 2 | Hose connection - Engine coolant inlet tube |

The pressure operated one way valve stops engine coolant to flow backwards through the radiator when the auxiliary coolant pump is running. The pressure operated one way valve allows the engine coolant to flow to the radiator upper hose and down to the radiator, when the electric thermostat is closed. Otherwise the engine coolant flows in the usual direction to the variable coolant pump.
