Pinpoint Test A: Brake Vacuum Pump Oil Leak Checks

  1. A1: BRAKE VACUUM PUMP OIL LEAK CHECK 1 
    NOTE: When installing new parts, always install the latest part number available.
    1. Thoroughly inspect the brake vacuum pump and surrounding area for oil leaks. Refer to the image and identify if area (A) and/or (B) show signs of oil leaks or oil staining

      Is there evidence of an oil leak and/or staining contained within the red area (B) and no staining in the blue area (A)?

      Yes:  Remove the brake vacuum pump and install a new brake vacuum pump gasket only. Re-install the original brake vacuum pump using a Jaguar Land Rover approved sealant. REFER to: BRAKE VACUUM PUMP - TDV8 4.4L DIESEL  Check and top up the engine oil as necessary. Perform a road test and check no oil leaks are evident

      No:  If there is evidence of an oil leak and/or staining in the blue area (A), install a new brake vacuum pump and gasket assembly using a Jaguar land Rover approved sealant. REFER to: BRAKE VACUUM PUMP - TDV8 4.4L DIESEL  Check and top up the engine oil as necessary. Perform a road test and check no oil leaks are evident
