Brake Booster - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Petrol - PHEV (G2163174): Overview

Power assistance for the braking system is provided by an electro-mechanically operated brake booster. The brake booster takes the brake demand applied by the driver and transforms it to an amplified brake pressure via the brake master cylinder. The brake booster is independent of the vacuum generated by the combustion engine, which improves the braking performance on the Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV). In conjunction with the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) control module the brake booster supports regenerative braking functions.
