Latching Issue - Row 2 Executive Seats

L405 Row 2 Executive seats in vehicles manufactured before April 2019 are susceptible to latch issues with the seat being unable to latch upright or producing a squeak/rattle when the vehicle is moving. The issue may be due to the misalignment of the striker with the latch. The bracket (as highlighted in the image below) has been retooled and, when replaced, will resolve the issue.

If the customer reports an issue with squeaks and rattles from the Row 2 Executive seats and/or an issue with the seats not latching in the upright position, follow the steps below to diagnose and rectify the issue:

1. Confirm that the vehicle was manufactured before April 2019
2. Fold down the Row 2 seats and then restore to the upright position
3. Test drive the vehicle (try to simulate similar driving conditions to those under which the customer reported first noticing the squeak/rattle faulty latching issue)
4. If either the squeak/rattle or latching fault is replicated (remaining an ongoing issue), then the bracket should be replaced with a retooled component (Bracket Part Number - JK52-612D24-AF). Note that both left and right side brackets may require replacement.
5. Test drive the vehicle to confirm the repair.
6. Return the vehicle to the customer.
