Right Turbocharger (G2131202): Removal

- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: LIFTING
- Remove the right Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve.
Refer to: RIGHT EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION VALVE
- Remove the starter motor.
Refer to: STARTER MOTOR
Remove the exhaust cross over pipe. Discard the gaskets, nuts and bolts.

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping oil.
Disconnect the turbocharger oil feed pipe. Discard the washers.
Disconnect the charge air cooler pipe from the turbocharger.
Disconnect the clean air intake pipe from the turbocharger.
Disconnect the vacuum pipe.
Remove the exhaust manifold heatshield.
Remove the turbocharger support bracket.

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping oil.
Remove the turbocharger oil return pipe. Discard the seal and gasket.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Disconnect the vacuum pipe.
- Remove the turbocharger heatshield.
Remove and discard the turbocharger to manifold nuts.
Remove and discard the turbocharger to manifold studs.
Remove the turbocharger. Discard the gasket.
- Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.
Remove the pipe from the turbocharger.
