Fixed Vane Turbocharger Actuator (G2131204): Installation

The following step(s) applies to: 

All vehicles

1. CAUTION: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of corrosion and foreign material.
   NOTE: Make sure the gasket is installed in the correct orientation as noted in the removal step.

   Install a new actuator gasket.

   Renew Part: Fixed vane turbocharger actuator gasket kit Quantity: 1 . 

2. CAUTION: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of corrosion and foreign material.
   NOTE: Apply a small amount of grease in the areas indicated to allow the gasket to remain in the position for installation.

   Install a new actuator gasket.

   Renew Part: Fixed vane turbocharger actuator gasket kit Quantity: 1 . 

3. CAUTION: Install all the bolts finger tight before final tightening.

   • Install the fixed vane turbocharger actuator.
   • Install the 4 retaining bolts, in the sequence shown.

     Torque  : 12 Nm

   • Install the fixed vane turbocharger actuator heatshield.
   • Install the retaining bolts and 2 retaining clips.

     Torque  : 9 Nm

   • Install the actuator hose.
   • Connect the electrical connector.

   • Install the turbocharger heatshield.
   • Install the 4 retaining bolts.

     Torque  : 9 Nm

   • Install a new gasket.

     Renew Part: Exhaust manifold cross-over pipe gaskets Quantity: 1 . 

   • Install the exhaust cross-over pipe to the turbocharger.
   • Install the 2 retaining bolts.

     Torque  : 25 Nm

   Install the 2 retaining nuts.

   Torque  : 22 Nm

   • Connect the electrical connector.
   • Secure the 2 retaining clips.

    • Install a new gasket.

      Renew Part: Turbocharger to exhaust manifold gasket Quantity: 1 . 

    • Install the exhaust pipe.
    • Install the 2 retaining bolts.

      Torque  : 11 Nm 

The following step(s) applies to: 

Right-hand drive vehicles

   • Make sure that new bolts are installed.

     Renew Part: Steering gear bolts Quantity: 1 . 

   • Install the 2 retaining bolts from the steering column lower shaft universal joint.

     Torque  : 30 Nm
