Static Apply/Release

Static Apply

Static apply will operate in all power modes. When the Electric Park Brake (EPB) switch is applied, the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) control module activates the two EPB actuators to apply the brakes. To apply the EPB, operate the EPB switch away from you. The ABS control module also signals the Instrument Cluster (IC) to turn on the park brake warning indicator. The warning indicator stays on continuously in power mode 6, and it stays on for 30 seconds after power mode 0 or 4 are selected.

Static Release

For the static release mode to operate, power mode 6 or higher must be selected with either the brake or accelerator pedal pressed. When the EPB switch is released, the ABS control module activates the two EPB actuators to release the brakes. To release the EPB, operate the EPB switch towards you. The ABS control module signals the IC to turn off the park brake warning indicator.
