Brake Disc (G2049159): Removal
CAUTION:
Brake discs must be renewed in axle sets.
NOTE:
This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- If this component is being renewed because of a customer complaint, make sure to follow the brake system Diagnosis and Testing procedure.
Refer to: BRAKE SYSTEM
- Connect the Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment and set the Electric Park Brake (EPB) to the maintenance position.
- Activate the service mode function of the Electric Park Brake (EPB).NOTE: This step is only required if the diagnostic tool is not available.

- Release the electric park brake.NOTE: This step is only required if the vehicle has no battery power.

- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

- Remove the rear wheel and tire.

- Disconnect the brake pad wear indicator sensor.
- Disconnect the electric parking brake electrical connector.
- Tie aside with a suitable tie strap.CAUTION:
- Make sure that the brake hose does not support the full weight of the brake caliper assembly.
- Discard the bolts.
Renew Part: Brake caliper carrier bolt(s) Quantity: 1 .
- Remove the rear brake disc.
