Brake Vacuum Pump - TDV6 3.0L Diesel (G1889177): Installation

The following step(s) applies to: 

All vehicles 

1. CAUTION: Make sure that the drive coupling is aligned with camshaft coupling.
   NOTE: The application of sealant must be 10 mm square in two places. Use silicone gasket sealant or equivalent meeting Land Rover specification.

   • Install a new O-ring seal.

     Renew Part: Brake vacuum pump O-ring seal Quantity: 1  .

   • Install the brake vacuum pump immediately after applying the sealant.
2. Install the brake vacuum pump bolts.

   Torque  : 23 Nm 

3. Install the brake vacuum pump stud.

   Torque  : 13 Nm 

4. Install the vacuum hose retaining bracket nut.

   Torque  : 23 Nm 

   The following step(s) applies to: 

   Vehicles without Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) 

5. Install the EGR crossover pipe.

   Torque  : 9 Nm 

6. Install the nut and install the pipes on to the EGR valve.

   Torque  : 9 Nm 

7. Install the coolant hose retaining bolt.

   Torque  : 9 Nm 

8. Install the coolant hose.

   The following step(s) applies to: 

   Vehicles with Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) 

9. • Install the vacuum hose.
   • Install a new piece of tape to the pipes.
10. Install the nut and connect the coolant pipes to the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve.

    Torque  : 9 Nm 

11. Install the coolant pipe retaining bolt.

    Torque  : 9 Nm 

    The following step(s) applies to: 

    All vehicles 

12. Install the vacuum hoses on to the brake vacuum pump.
13. Fill the cooling system.

    Refer to: COOLING SYSTEM PARTIAL DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING

14. Install the left secondary bulkhead panel.

15. Connect the startup battery ground cable.

    Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
