Brake Vacuum Pump - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Petrol (G2046495): Removal

NOTE:
  • This procedure contains some variation in the illustration depending on the vehicle specification, but essential information is always correct.
  • This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

    Refer to: LIFTING

    General Equipment: 2 post lift 

  2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

    Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT

  3. Remove the oil pump chain.

    Refer to: OIL PUMP CHAIN

  4. Disconnect the oil pump solenoid electrical connector.

  5. Release the oil pump solenoid wiring harness from the 4 retaining clips.

  6. CAUTION: Discard the vacuum pump seals.

    • Remove the 4 bolts securing the vacuum pump to the engine assembly.
    • Remove the vacuum pump assembly and discard the vacuum pump seals.
  7. CAUTION: Discard the oil pick up pipe seal.
    NOTE: Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.

    • Remove the 2 bolts securing the oil pick up pipe to the vacuum pump assembly.
    • Remove the oil pick up pipe from the vacuum pump assembly and discard the seal.
