Cylinder Block Oil Plug (G2263909): Installation

Use a suitable M18 x 1.5 mm tap to cut a thread into the cylinder block oil plug to a depth of 12 mm.

General Equipment: M18 x 1.5 mm tap
CAUTION:
- Do not use air tools to remove any swarf or debris.
- Take care not to push any swarf or debris into the cylinder block.
- Make sure to remove any engine oil from the cylinder block, any remaining engine oil could prevent the cylinder block oil plug from sealing correctly.
Thoroughly clean the cylinder block, remove any swarf or debris and engine oil that is present.

Apply Loctite 243 or similar to the new M18 x 1.5 mm cylinder block oil plug.

Renew Part: Cylinder block oil plug Quantity: 1 .

Install the M18 x 1.5 mm cylinder block oil plug.

Torque : 50 Nm
Allow the Loctite 243 or similar to set before starting the engine and checking for leaks.
Install the generator.
Refer to: GENERATOR
Install the front subframe.
Refer to: FRONT SUBFRAME - V6 S/C 3.0L PETROL
- Start the engine.
- Allow the engine to get to normal running temperature.
- Check the cylinder block oil plug for leaks.
