Fuel Tank And Lines - TDV6 3.0L Diesel (G2006336): Overview

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

The fuel delivery system incorporates a Low Pressure (LP) and High Pressure (HP) circuit to provide the engine with sufficient fuel for all operating conditions.

The LP system features the following components:

The LP fuel pump is located in the bottom of the fuel tank assembly. The LP fuel pump has a Direct Current (DC) electric motor and is operated by the LP fuel pump relay. The LP fuel pump relay is controlled by the Body Control Module/Gateway Module (BCM/GWM). The LP fuel pump draws fuel from the fuel tank and delivers it to the HP fuel pump. The HP fuel pump is mounted on the engine.

The LP fuel pump also supplies fuel to the 2 jet pumps on either side of the fuel tank. This makes sure there is sufficient fuel in the swirl pot.

The HP system features a Bosch 'Direct Injection (DI)', HP system.

Depending on vehicle configuration, vehicles can be equipped with a Fuel Fired Booster Heater (FFBH). The FFBH fuel pump is mounted on the right side of the fuel tank. A separate fuel line draws fuel from the fuel pump module to the FFBH fuel pump. An additional fuel line delivers the fuel to the FFBH in the engine compartment.
