Coolant Pump (G1824662): Removal

NOTE:

- If the replacement of the coolant pump is because of a coolant leak proceed to step 2.
- If the replacement of the coolant pump is not because of a coolant leak proceed to step 3.
- Inspect the cylinder head coolant outlet pipe shown in illustration E298006.
- If the cylinder head coolant outlet pipe is to the latest level, continue to step 3.
- If the cylinder head coolant outlet pipe is not to the latest level, replace the cylinder head coolant outlet pipe and continue to sub step 4.

- Complete a coolant system pressure test to confirm the coolant leak has been rectified.

- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: LIFTING
- Drain the coolant system.
- Remove the accessory drive belt.
Refer to: ACCESSORY DRIVE BELT
Using a suitable tool remove the coolant hose.
Remove the thermostat bolt.

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping coolant.
Release the clip and the coolant hose from the coolant pump.
Remove the accessory drive belt tensioner.

WARNING: Fluid loss is unavoidable, use absorbent cloth or a container to collect the fluid.CAUTION: Engine coolant will damage the paint finished surfaces. If spilt, immediately remove the coolant and clean the area with water.
Remove the coolant pump and discard the seals.
Torque : 12 Nm
