The fuel filler neck of the fuel filler pipe is located at the rear of the vehicle, above the rear right wheel. The filler pipe and cap is covered by a molded plastic fuel flap.

The fuel flap has the option to be non-locking or electrically locked when the vehicle is locked.

The fuel filler cap is a conventional screw-in type which is secured to the vehicle with a lanyard. Make sure that you install the fuel filler cap securely, to make sure that the fuel tank venting system is sealed. This prevents potential fuel loss and evaporation, which causes extra emissions.

The fuel filler cap has a ratchet locking mechanism. The fuel filler cap should be screwed-in to a torque of 3 audible clicks to make sure that it is correctly tightened.

Failure to correctly secure the fuel filler cap will result in vapor being lost from the system to the atmosphere.

The fuel filler pipe is a stainless steel fabrication which is secured to the vehicle body with 2 brackets and nuts. A metal stub pipe, attached to the filler neck, provides for the attachment of the fuel tank breather pipe.

The fuel filler pipe attaches to a stub at the rear of the fuel tank which incorporates a check valve. The in-line check valve is mounted inside the fuel tank inlet stub, and is retained in the closed position by a spring. The check valve is only opened when the vehicle is refueled.

A fuel tank breather pipe connects to a stub in the fuel tank and to the fuel filler neck. The fuel tank breather pipe enables the expansion of the fuel vapor when filling the fuel tank. The fuel tank breather also allows for the control of the fuel cut off during filling. The fuel vapor is routed to an evaporative emissions canister.

The fuel filler cap must be securely installed to make sure that the tank venting system is sealed.

The fuel filler cap has a locking mechanism which gives an audible click when the cap is correctly tightened.

Failure to correctly secure the fuel filler cap will result in vapor being lost from the system to the atmosphere.

The filler pipe is a stainless steel fabrication which is secured to the vehicle body with 2 brackets and nuts. A metal stub pipe, attached to the filler neck, provides for the attachment of the evaporative emissions pipe.

The combined fuel vapor and fuel tank breather pipe is connected to a stub in the fuel tank. A pipe connection splits the combined hose to independently connect pipes to the fuel filler neck and the evaporative emissions canister. The pipe to the fuel filler neck is only used for evaporative emissions. The tank breather pipe routes the fuel vapor to the evaporative emissions canister when refueling the fuel tank.
