Low Pressure Exhaust Gas RECIRCULATION Cooler (G1868229): Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
NOTE: Only perform step 1 if the components were previously removed.
  1. Install the low pressure EGR  temperature sensor.

    Torque  : 3.6 Nm 

  2. Install the low pressure EGR  cooler. Renew the O-ring seal and gasket.

    Renew Part: Low pressure exhaust gas recirculation cooler O-ring seal Quantity: 1  .

    Renew Part: Low pressure exhaust gas recirculation cooler gasket Quantity: 1  .

    Torque 

    EGR cooler bolts: 25 Nm 

    EGR cooler intake pipe nut and bolt: 12 Nm 

  3. Connect the lower coolant pipe.
  4. Connect the upper coolant pipe.

    Torque  : 25 Nm 

  5. Secure the wiring harness.
  6. Install the EGR  pressure sensor.
  7. Install the low pressure EGR  valve.

    Refer to: LOW PRESSURE EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION VALVE 

  8. Fill the cooling system.

    Refer to: COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING

    • Remove the protection from the accessory drive belt that was preventing contamination from engine coolant.
    • Visually inspect that no coolant has contaminated/spilled on the FEAD pulleys and belts.
