The right side High Pressure (HP) Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system comprises an EGR cooler and valve housing assembly. The assembly is bolted to the cylinder head, above the exhaust manifold. The EGR assembly incorporates an EGR valve and motor, an EGR cooler, and a cooler bypass valve and vacuum actuator.
On the valve housing, an EGR intake tube is connected to the exhaust manifold and directs exhaust gasses into the valve housing. A second pipe from the valve housing connects to the throttle body and passes the exhaust gasses into the throttle body to mix with the clean air entering the engine from the turbocharger.
