Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor

The exhaust gas temperature sensor is used by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to monitor the exhaust gas temperature.
The PCM constantly checks the temperature range. High temperatures can be an indicator of extreme conditions that can lead to engine failure. Excessively high exhaust gas temperatures are the result of a rich air/fuel ratio.
