Brake Pedal Switch

The brake pedal switch is located on the pedal box and is operated by the brake pedal. The switch has:
- Two shared connections to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and the Body Control Module/Gateway Module (BCM/GWM) (one connection is switched to ground, the other is switched to primary battery voltage).
- A permanent primary battery voltage power supply via the Passenger Junction Box (PJB) and the Battery Junction Box (BJB).
The brake pedal switch is a normally open two pole switch. The switch contacts are closed when the driver depresses the brake pedal. The PCM compares the signals from both poles to determine the status of the switch.
The BCM/GWM uses the output from the switch for brake pedal switch status and to illuminate the brake lamps when the brake pedal is depressed by the driver.
