Rear Silencer (G2020243): Removal

NOTE:

This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.

Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

Before removing the rear silencer make sure you make note of the gap between the rear silencer and the rear bumper cover.
CAUTION: Make sure the exhaust system is supported at all times.

- Release the exhaust clamp nut allowing the removal of the rear silencer assembly from the exhaust system.
- Remove the 3 rear silencer exhaust bracket hangers. With the aid of another technician make sure that the exhaust system is always supported.
- With the aid of another technician remove the rear silencer assembly from the vehicle.
NOTE: Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.

Remove the 2 rear dampers.
