Pinpoint Test B: DTCS And Control Module Software Tests

  1. B1: ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION INSTALLATION 
    1. Check the installation of the engine and transmission - Check the integrity of the engine/transmission mounts and fixings

      Are the engine and transmission installed correctly?

      • Yes: GO to  B2.
      • No: Rectify as necessary. Perform a road test and re-assess the quality of the gear shifts
  2. B2: READ DTCS 
    1. Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, perform routine - Read DTCs. Check for DTCs in the following control modules: Powertrain control module

      Anti-lock brake system control module

      Automatic temperature control module

      Active on-demand coupling control module

      All wheel drive control module

      Gateway module

      Transmission control module

      Are any DTCs set in the listed control modules?

      • Yes: Refer to the relevant DTC index and perform the relevant corrective actions. Perform a road test and re-assess the quality of the gear shifts
      • No: GO to  B3.
  3. B3: CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE CHECK 

    Before performing any of the following routines, ensure that the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment has been updated with the latest level software.

    1. Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, check if the following control modules are configured with the latest level software: Powertrain control module

      Anti-lock brake system control module

      Automatic temperature control module

      Active on-demand coupling control module

      All wheel drive control module

      Gateway module

      Transmission control module

      Are the listed control modules configured with the latest level software?

      • Yes: GO to PINPOINT TEST C .
      • No: Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, re-configure the relevant control module(s) with the latest level software as necessary. GO to PINPOINT TEST C .
