Brake Vacuum Pipes

Plastic pipes connect the brake booster to the brake vacuum pump to provide the vacuum for the brake booster. The connection with the brake booster contains a check valve to maintain the vacuum in the brake booster.

On vehicles with the stop/start system, the brake vacuum pipes incorporate a brake vacuum sensor with an integral check valve. The integrated check valve replaces the check valve in the connection with the brake booster.

A in-line check valve near the connection with the brake vacuum pump prevents any contamination from the brake vacuum pump entering the brake vacuum pipes when the engine is off.
