Removal And Installation: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

CAUTION: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.
- Clean and inspect the cylinder head and cylinder block.
- Check the cylinder head face for distortion, across the center and from corner to corner. Refer to: Cylinder Head Distortion
  Refer to: CYLINDER HEAD GASKET SELECTION - TDV6 3.0L DIESEL
CAUTION: Only tighten the bolts finger-tight at this stage.

NOTE: Install a new gasket.

Renew Part: Cylinder head gasket Quantity: 1 .

Renew Part: Cylinder head bolts Quantity: 1 .
NOTE: Tighten the bolts in the indicated sequence.

- Torque Specification: 80 Nm
NOTE: Tighten the bolts in the indicated sequence.

Torque Specification: 10 Nm
Torque Specification: 10 Nm
WARNING: Make sure that new nuts are installed.

CAUTION: Install the nuts finger tight before final tightening.

NOTE: Install a new gasket.

Renew Part: Exhaust manifold gasket Quantity: 1 .
NOTE: Tighten the bolts in the indicated sequence.

Torque Specification: 28 Nm
CAUTION: Install new studs.

Renew Part: Exhaust manifold cross-over pipe studs Quantity: 1 .

Torque Specification: 13 Nm

WARNING: Make sure that new nuts are installed.
Renew Part: Exhaust manifold cross-over pipe nuts Quantity: 1 .

Torque Specification: 24 Nm

Connect the battery ground cable
