Removal And Installation: Removal

WARNING: If installing a new brake disc, install new brake pads.
CAUTION:
  • Brake discs must be renewed in pairs.
  • LH illustration shown, RH is similar.
NOTE:
  • The brake pad wear warning indicator sensor must be replaced each time the brake pads are serviced.
  • Some variation in the illustrations may occur, but the essential information is always correct.
  • Some components shown removed for clarity.
  1. Connect the diagnostic tool and set the electronic park brake (EPB) to the maintenance position.
  2. NOTE: This step is only required if the diagnostic tool is not available.

    Refer to: ELECTRIC PARK BRAKE SERVICE MODE ACTIVATION AND DEACTIVATION .

  3. NOTE: This step is only required if the vehicle has no battery power.

    Refer to: ELECTRIC PARK BRAKE RELEASE WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS NO ELECTRICAL POWER .

  4. WARNING: Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.

    Raise and support the vehicle.

  5. Remove the wheel and tire.

    Refer to: WHEEL AND TIRE - TDV6 3.0L DIESEL/TDV8 4.4L DIESEL/V6 S/C 3.0L PETROL/V8 N/A 5.0L PETROL/V8 S/C 5.0L PETROL .

  6. NOTE: RH side only.
