Removal And Installation: Installation

Torque Specification: 10 Nm
CAUTION: A new O-ring seal is to be installed.

Lubricate the new O-ring seal.

Renew Part: Oil level gauge O-ring seal Quantity: 1 .

Torque Specification: 12 Nm
Torque Specification: 48 Nm
CAUTION: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.
- Apply RTV sealant (Loctite 5901G or Loctite 5900) in a 2-3mm diameter to the areas shown, and tighten the bolts within 7 minutes.
CAUTION: Use only a plastic scraper when removing the sealing material.

Apply RTV sealant (Loctite 5901G or Loctite 5900) in a 2-3mm diameter to the areas shown.
CAUTION: Install the component in the sequence shown.
CAUTION: Only tighten the bolts finger tight at this stage.
NOTE: Tighten the bolts in the indicated sequence.

Install the bolts, but do not tighten fully at this stage.

Renew Part: Lower timing cover Quantity: 1 .
NOTE: Tighten the bolts in the indicated sequence.

Torque Specification: 10 Nm
NOTE: Lubricate the fuel rail high-pressure fuel pump buckets with clean engine oil.
CAUTION: Tighten the Torx screws a turn at a time until the correct torque is achieved.

NOTE: Remove and discard the blanking caps.

Torque Specification: 11 Nm
CAUTION: Tighten the Torx screws a turn at a time until the correct torque is achieved.

NOTE: Remove and discard the blanking caps.

Torque Specification: 11 Nm
CAUTION: Install new high-pressure fuel supply lines.

NOTE: Remove and discard the blanking caps.

Renew Part: Fuel rail supply pipe(s) Quantity: 1 .

CAUTION: This fuel pipe can be re-used, inspect for signs of damage. Renew if necessary.

NOTE: Remove and discard the blanking caps.

Torque Specifications:

Unions 21 Nm

M6 8 Nm
Torque Specification: 21 Nm
Torque Specification: 25 Nm
CAUTION: Install all the bolts finger tight before final tightening.

NOTE: Tighten the bolts in the indicated sequence.

NOTE: Lubricate the seal with clean engine oil.

Torque Specification: 12 Nm
CAUTION: Install all the bolts finger tight before final tightening.

NOTE: Make sure that the crankshaft is not rotated.

Install the special tool.

Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1304

Torque Specifications:

Stage 1: 45 Nm

Stage 2: 90°
- Apply RTV sealant to the crankshaft pulley keyway.
- Make sure that the RTV sealant is applied in a 2mm diameter bead.
- Make sure that when the RTV sealant is applied that the RTV sealant is level with the top of the keyway.
NOTE: Make sure to clean the threads in the end of the crankshaft and that the crank nose is free of any foreign materials.
Install the special tool.
Install the special tool.

Torque Specification: 25 Nm
Install the special tool.
CAUTION: Rotate the crankshaft pulley installation tool until the pulley is fully located, do not over tighten. Failure to do this may result in damage to the components.
Remove the special tool.
- Remove the special tool.
Remove the special tool.
- Apply loctite 270 to the thread of the bolts.
- Torque Specification: 65 Nm
WARNING: Make sure that a new bolt is installed.

CAUTION: Tighten the component finger tight first.

Install the crankshaft pulley bolt.

Renew Part: Crankshaft pulley bolt Quantity: 1 .
NOTE: The graphic shows the step for LH thread only, RH thread will be the opposite.

Torque Specification: 25 Nm
Torque Specification: 200 Nm
CAUTION: Make sure that the socket is turned through 270 degrees not the torque wrench.

NOTE: The use of a torque multiplier capable of 600Nm will be required.

Torque Specification: 270°
Remove the special tools.
- Apply loctite 270 to the thread of the bolts.
- Torque Specification: 65 Nm
Remove the special tool.

Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1304
Torque Specification: 25 Nm
Torque Specification: 48 Nm
Torque Specification: 25 Nm
