Removal And Installation: Removal

CAUTION: Take extra care not to damage the surrounding components.
NOTE: This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

    Refer to: LIFTING

  2. G11699297
    • Remove the 10 bolts.
    • Remove the transmission undershield.
  3. NOTE: If equipped.

    Remove the Engine Gas Recirculation (EGR) pipe clamp.

  4. G11699299
    • Disconnect the electrical connector.
    • Release the wire harness.
  5. CAUTION: Remove and discard the gaskets.

    Remove the 3 bolts.

  6. CAUTION: Remove and discard the gaskets.
    G11699301

    Remove the 2 bolts.

  7. G11699302

    Remove the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S).

    Install the Special Tool(s): 310-121
