Removal And Installation: Installation

NOTE: Lubricate the fuel rail high-pressure fuel pump bucket with clean engine oil.

CAUTION: Tighten the Torx screws a turn at a time until the correct torque is achieved.NOTE: Lubricate the fuel rail high-pressure fuel pump O-ring seal with clean engine oil.
Torque Specification: 11 Nm
Loosen the Torx screws half a turn each.
- CAUTION: Install new high-pressure fuel supply lines.NOTE: Remove and discard the blanking caps.
Renew Part: Fuel injector high pressure pipe(s) Quantity: 1 .

CAUTION: Care must be taken when positioning the fuel rail high-pressure fuel pump cover to one side.NOTE: Fuel rail high-pressure fuel pump cover shown removed for clarity.
Torque Specification: 11 Nm
- Lower the vehicle.

NOTE: Do not tighten at this stage.

WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety stands.
Raise and support the vehicle.

Torque Specifications:
Unions (1) 21 Nm
M6 (2) 11 Nm
M8 (3) 25 Nm
M5 nut (4) 6 Nm

NOTE: Install the bolt and unions finger tight before final tightening.
Torque Specifications:
Unions 21 Nm
M6 11 Nm
Torque Specification: 21 Nm

Torque Specification: 25 Nm
- Refer to: GENERATOR - V8 S/C 5.0L PETROL .
- Lower the vehicle.

CAUTION: Lubricate only the union threads with clean engine oil.NOTE: Do not tighten at this stage.
Torque Specifications:
Unions 21 Nm
Bolts 8 Nm
Torque Specification: 21 Nm
- Refer to: AIR CLEANER OUTLET PIPE T-CONNECTOR .
- Refer to: ENGINE UNDERSHIELD .
- Connect the battery earth lead.
Refer to: SPECIFICATIONS .
- Start the engine and allow to run for 10 minutes, stop the engine.
- Check for leaks.

CAUTION: Make sure that the selector lever and the gearshift mechanism are in the park (P) position.
- Set the ignition to the ON position.
- Press the left hand directional button to access the instrument cluster menu. Select Service Menu.
- Press the left hand OK button.
- Press the left-hand directional button to access the Oil Level Display.
- Press the left hand OK button and follow the instructions.

CAUTION: Make sure that the hood is open.
- Press the cruise control cancel button twice within 2 seconds.
- Only after having started and run the engine for 10 minutes (as indicated in Step 31, switch off the engine, then stabilizing for 10 minutes, take a reading from the oil level display and, if necessary top up with engine oil.
- Set the ignition to the OFF position.
- Allow 10 minutes for the engine oil level to stabilize if there has been additional oil top up.

NOTE: The following steps are to update the average oil level value.
- Set the ignition to the OFF position.
- Set the ignition to the ON position.
- Press the left hand directional button to access the instrument cluster menu. Select Service Menu.
- Press the left hand OK button.
- Press the left-hand directional button to access the Oil Level Display.
- Make sure that the average oil level value has now been updated.
- Press the left hand OK button and follow the instructions.
