Removal And Installation: Installation

NOTE: Lubricate the fuel rail high-pressure fuel pump bucket with clean engine oil.
CAUTION: Tighten the Torx screws a turn at a time until the correct torque is achieved.

NOTE: Lubricate the fuel rail high-pressure fuel pump O-ring seal with clean engine oil.

Torque Specification: 12 Nm
CAUTION:
- Install new high-pressure fuel supply lines.
- Lubricate only the union threads with clean engine oil.
NOTE:
- Remove and discard the blanking caps.
- Engine shown removed for clarity.
- Install the bolt and unions fully finger tight before final tightening.
Lower the vehicle.
CAUTION: Only tighten the unions finger-tight at this stage.
NOTE:
- Do not tighten at this stage.
- Remove and discard the blanking caps.
WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety stands.

Raise the vehicle.
NOTE: Engine shown removed for clarity.
- Torque Specifications:
Unions (1) 20 Nm

M6 (2) 12 Nm

M8 (3) 25 Nm

M5 nut (4) 6 Nm
NOTE: Engine shown removed for clarity.

Torque Specification: 21 Nm
NOTE:
- Install the bolt and unions finger tight before final tightening.
- Remove and discard the blanking caps.
Torque Specification: 21 Nm
- Torque Specifications:
  M6 12 Nm
  
  M10 29 Nm

Torque Specification: 25 Nm

Lower the vehicle.
CAUTION: Lubricate only the union threads with clean engine oil.
NOTE:
- Do not tighten at this stage.
- Remove and discard the blanking caps.
Torque Specifications:

Union 21 Nm

M6 8 Nm
Torque Specification: 21 Nm
WARNING: Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.
CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping coolant.
Torque Specification: 3.5 Nm

Connect the battery earth lead.
Refer to: Specifications .
- Start the engine and allow to run for 10 minutes, stop the engine.
- Check for leaks.
CAUTION:
- Make sure that the selector lever and the gearshift mechanism are in the park (P) position.
- Make sure that the hood is open.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Press the right-hand directional button to access the instrument cluster menu.
- Press the right-hand OK button.
Press the right-hand directional button to access the Oil Level Display.
Press the right-hand OK button and follow the instructions.
Press the cruise control cancel button twice within 2 seconds.
- The message center display will revert to the normal display in the trip computer.
- This display is now the live reading of the engine oil level.
- Only after having started and run the engine for 10 minutes (as indicated in Step 30), switch off the engine, then stabilizing for 10 minutes, take a reading from the oil level display and, if necessary top up with engine oil.
- Press the right-hand OK button and follow the instructions.
Turn the ignition off.
Allow 10 minutes for the engine oil level to stabilize if there has been additional oil top up.
NOTE: The following steps are to update the average oil level value.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Press and hold the cruise control cancel button for more than 2 seconds.
- The message center display will revert to the normal display in the trip computer.
Turn the ignition off.
Turn the ignition on.
- Press the right-hand directional button to access the instrument cluster menu.
- Press the right-hand OK button.
Press the right-hand directional button to access the Oil Level Display.
Press the right-hand OK button and follow the instructions.
