The Ingenium 2.0L Petrol engine is equipped with a twin scroll type turbocharger with an electronically actuated turbine bypass control actuator.
The turbocharger consists of two elements:
- A turbine
- A compressor.
These elements are enclosed separately in cast housings and mounted on a common shaft, which rotates in bearings.
The turbocharger is cooled using engine coolant, allowing it to operate with increased exhaust gas temperatures.
To control the charge air pressure of the turbocharger there are a turbine bypass control actuator and a compressor recirculation valve installed within the turbocharger system.
