If a Transfer Case fault occurs the driver will be informed with the message `2WD ONLY TRACTION REDUCED' being displayed in the message center.
The nature of the fault can be diagnosed using approved diagnostic equipment which reads the fault codes stored in the Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) memory.
The diagnostic system will detect electrical faults related to the electro-hydraulic actuator motor. For example; short circuit to ground or an open circuit.
NOTE:
The diagnostic system cannot detect mechanical faults. For example; clutch stuck in the open or closed position, broken chain or low oil level.
