Test C: Fuel Gauge Reads Empty/Full At All Times
- Turn ignition on. Disconnect fuel pump module harness connector. Connect voltmeter positive lead to terminal No. 1 (Green/Black wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Connect voltmeter negative lead to ground, and measure voltage. If voltage measures 5 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, repair Green/Black wire, or replace instrument cluster or fuel gauge.
- Ensure ignition is on, and fuel pump module is disconnected. Connect voltmeter positive lead to terminal No. 1 (Green/Black wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Connect voltmeter negative lead to terminal No. 2 (Black wire), and measure voltage. If voltage measures 5 volts, replace fuel pump module. If battery voltage is not as specified, repair Black wire.
