Rear Air Spring Assembly: Removal
WARNING:
Air suspension is pressurized up to 10 bar. Dirt or grease must not enter system. Wear hand, ear and eye safety standard protection when servicing system.
WARNING:
The air spring must be restricted by suspension loading, with dampers fitted before inflation. Failure to observe this warning could cause air spring failure, resulting in component damage or personal injury. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DISMANTLE AIR SPRING.
- Depressurize system. Refer to DEPRESSURIZING & PRESSURIZING SYSTEM under SERVICING.
- Disconnect negative battery cable.
- Remove wheel.
- Support chassis on axle stands.
- Support axle with jack.
- Remove 4 retaining clips from upper and lower fixing. See Fig 1 .
- Lower axle for access to air pipe connection at top of air spring.
- Clean connection with a stiff brush and soapy water. Peel back rubber boot.
- Disconnect air pipe from air spring. See AIR PIPE .
- Remove air spring assembly.
