Removal & Installation: Notes
WARNING:
Vehicles are equipped with air bag supplemental restraint system. Before attempting any repairs involving steering column, instrument panel or related components, see SERVICE PRECAUTIONS and DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.
WARNING:
Electronic Air Suspension (EAS) system must be depressurized before disconnecting any air system component. See DEPRESSURIZING & PRESSURIZING SYSTEM
under SERVICING. When pressure is released from EAS system, vehicle body will immediately lower to bumper stops. Before releasing pressure, ensure there is nothing between vehicle body and bumper stops. Dirt and grease must not enter the system.
WARNING:
The air spring must be restricted by suspension loading, with dampers fitted before inflation. Unrestricted movement of a pressurized air spring will result in failure of the assembly, causing component and possible personal injury. DO NOT attempt to dismantle the spring.
CAUTION:
When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.
CAUTION:
Wear approved hand, ear and eye protection when servicing vehicle.
NOTE:
It is essential to note that repairs to other suspension components are affected by air suspension.
