Removal And Installation: Removal
- Disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.
- Remove the rear wheel and tires.
(Refer to Tires/Wheels - " WHEEL ")
- Disconnect the rear wheel speed sensor connector (A).
- Remove the rear wheel speed sensor wire bracket nuts (A).
Tightening torque:
8.8 - 13.7 N.m (0.9 - 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 - 10.1 lb.ft)
- Remove the rear hub assembly.
(Refer to Driveshaft and Axle - " REAR HUB ASSEMBLY - 2WD ")
- Separate the rear shock absorbers (A) from the coupled torsion beam axle after removing the bolts.
Tightening torque:
98.1 - 117.7 N.m (10.0 - 12.0 kgf.m, 72.3 - 86.8 lb.ft)
- Remove the coil spring (A).
- Support the torsion beam axle (A) with a suitable tool such as the jack.
- Remove the torsion beam axle mounting bolts and nuts (A).
Tightening torque:
137.3 - 156.9 N.m (14.0 - 16.0 kgf.m, 101.3 - 115.7 lb.ft)
- Lower the jack slowly to remove the torsion beam axle (A).NOTE: When removing the torsion beam axle (A), pay attention to the interference of the surrounding parts and lower the jack slowly.
