Removal And Installation: Removal

Remove the engine cover.
(Refer to Engine and Transaxle Assembly - " ENGINE COVER ")
Remove the air cleaner assembly.
(Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "AIR CLEANER ")
Disconnect the engine wiring connector and harness clamp and disconnect the wiring from intake manifold.

Separate the intercooler inlet pipe (A) after releasing the quick connector.

Information

When disconnect the intercooler outlet hose, pull out the quick connector clamp (A) in the direction of the arrow as shown below.

Move the quick connector clamp from position (B) to position (C) as shown below and pull out the quick connector hose.

Remove the return hose and pipe bracket bolt (A) and disconnect the wiring (B).
Tightening torque:

9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb.ft)

Disconnect the Purge Control Solenoid Valve (PCSV) hose (A).

Remove the Purge Control Solenoid Valve (PCSV) (A) and disconnect the bracket (B) after removing the bolt.

Remove the MAPS & IATS.
(Refer to Engine Control/Fuel System - " ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM - 1.6L MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR & INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR (MAPS & IATS) ")
Remove the Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) module.
(Refer to Engine Control/Fuel System - "ETC (ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL MODULE) ")
Remove the intake manifold (A) with the gasket after removing the bolts and nuts.
Tightening torque:

18.6 - 23.5 N.m (1.9 - 2.4 kgf.m, 13.7 - 17.4 lb.ft)
