DTC U0100-87: Lost Communication With EMS: General Description

The main features of Controller Area Network (CAN) bus system are:

• A data-transfer rate up to 1Mbit/s for the high-speed CAN and up to 125Kbit/s for the low-speed CAN
• Signals are broadcast in both directions
• The multi-master principle
• High availability by locating failed control units
• Standardization in accordance with ISO 11898

  The CAN communication is one of the vehicle communication method, which is now widely used to transfer data to each control units in the vehicle.
