Connector And Wiring

Check each connector and wiring for damage, terminal slippage, or incomplete connection.

1. Vehicle wiring check
   • Check for disconnection/short circuit due to contact failure, damage, wiring damage, foreign material inflow, etc.
2. Check the motor connector
   • Check the terminals for expansion and mold sides for damage.

   NOTE: If an expansion or damage is found, replace the MDPS power pack.
   (Refer to Motor Driven Power Steering - "POWER PACK ASSEMBLY ")
3. Check the motor connector.

• Check the TAS side (C) and ECU (D) wiring.
• Check each connectors and wiring for damage, push back, and misconnection
• If the DTC code is C125901/C125929/C125938/C129002, replace the MDPS wiring.

  (Refer to Appropriate Service Information")

• If no problem is found, replace the MDPS column and housing.

  (Refer to Motor Driven Power Steering - "MDPS COLUMN AND HOUSING ")

  CAUTION: When the MDPS warning light is not on, the following symptoms are not malfunctions.

  • Immediately after starting the engine, there is no generation of auxiliary steering force temporarily during the self-diagnosis period of the MDPS system (about 2 seconds), but this is not a malfunction.
  • When the engine is on or off, there is a noise due to relay connection, but this is a normal operation sound.
  • There is a noise caused by motor rotation when operating the steering wheel in a stopped or low-speed driving state, but this is a normal operating sound.
