Component Inspection

  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Connect KDS to Data Link connector (DLC).
  3. Ignition "ON".
  4. Monitor "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)" with KDS.
  5. Clear any DTCs stored in the system with KDS.
  6. Re-check DTC in the system with KDS.
  7. Did the same DTC is stored in the system?

    Good 

    • Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or MDPS connector or was repaired and MDPS memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for backed out terminal, improper mating, broken locks, looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, damage or poor terminal to wire connection. Repair or replace as necessary and Go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.

    No Good 

    • Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
    • If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, replace HECU and then Go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.
