Damaged Airbag (Undeployed Airbag) Disposal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.
    NOTE: After disconnecting the battery negative (-) terminal, wait at least 3 minutes and 30 seconds.
  2. If necessary, remove the damaged airbag (undeployed airbag) from the vehicle.
    • For airbags with lead wires, twist the wires to create a short circuit.
  3. Place the removed airbag in a sturdy plastic bag or box and sealed tightly, and then dispose it.
  4. If storing the damaged airbag individually without return or disposal, write a warning message on the plastic bag.
