Removal & Installation: Removal
CAUTION:
Since there is a risk of injury due to high pressure fuel leakage, do not perform any work right after the engine is stopped.
NOTE:
Cover the connection with a clean cloth since the residual fuel may be released after "Release Residual Pressure in Fuel Line" procedures.
- Release the residual pressure in fuel line.
(Refer to Fuel Delivery System - "RELEASE RESIDUAL PRESSURE IN FUEL LINE ")
- Disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.
- Remove the high pressure fuel pipe [high pressure fuel pump ↔ delivery pipe].
(Refer to Fuel Delivery System - "FUEL LINE ")
- Open the fuel tube clip (A).
- Separate the fuel feed tube (A) from the high pressure fuel pump.NOTE:
- Cover the connection with a clean cloth since the residual fuel may be released after "Release Residual Pressure in Fuel Line" procedures.
- When separating the fuel supply tube, separate it after pressing the holder (A) firmly by using the clip remover.
- Remove the fuel tube clip (A).
- Remove the high pressure fuel pump (A) after removing the bolts.
Tightening torque:
12.7 - 14.7 N.m (1.3 - 1.5 kgf.m, 9.4 - 10.8 lb.ft)
NOTE: Remove the bolts alternately. If (only) one of bolts is completely removed, the housing surface of the cylinder head may be damaged due to the spring tension of the high-pressure fuel pump. - Remove the roller tappet (A).
