Removal & Installation: Removal

Disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.
Remove the engine room under cover.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")
Remove the starter cover (A) after removing the bolts and nut.
Tightening torque:

8.8 - 13.7 N.m (0.9 - 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 - 10.1 Ib.ft)

Disconnect the starter connector (A).

Disconnect the B terminal cable (A) after removing the nut.
Tightening torque:

11.8 - 14.7 N.m (1.2 - 1.5 kgf.m, 8.7 - 10.8 lb.ft)

Disconnect the Electronic Oil Pump (EOP) connector (A).

Remove the starter (A) after removing the bolts.
Tightening torque:

49.0 - 63.7 N.m (5.0 - 6.5 kgf.m, 36.2 - 47.0 lb.ft)

NOTE: Do not disassemble the Idle Stop & Go (ISG) type starter as it is not partial-repairable.
