Removal & Installation: Removal
- Perform the "Brake Pad Change Mode" by KDS following in the order below. (With EPB)
- Connect self-diagnosis connector (16pins) located under the driver side crash pad to self-diagnosis device, and then turn the self-diagnosis device after key is ON.
- Select the "vehicle model" and "Electronic Stability Program" on KDS vehicle selection screen.
- Select the "Brake Pad Change Mode" on KDS screen, then select OK.
- Proceed with the test according to the screen instructions.
- Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
- Remove the rear wheel and tire.
(Refer to Suspension System - "WHEEL ")
- Disconnect the EPB connector (A). (With EPB)
- Disconnect the brake hose (A) by loosening the bolt.
Tightening torque:
24.5 - 29.4 N.m (2.5 - 3.0 kgf.m, 18.1 - 21.7 lb.ft)
- Remove the caliper body (B) by loosening the guide rod bolts (A).
Tightening torque:
With EPB: 37.3 - 41.2 N.m (3.8 - 4.2 kgf.m, 27.5 - 30.4 lb.ft)
Without EPB: 21.6 - 31.4 N.m (2.2 - 3.2 kgf.m, 15.9 - 23.1 lb.ft)
- Remove the return springs (A). (With EPB)
- Remove the brake pads (A).
- Remove the pad liner (A).
- Remove the rear shock absorber bolt (A) and nut (B).
Tightening torque:
137.3 - 156.9 N.m (14.0 - 16.0 kgf.m, 101.3 - 115.7 lb.ft)
- Remove the caliper carrier (A).
Tightening torque:
98.1 - 117.7 N.m (10.0 - 12.0 kgf.m, 72.3 - 86.8 lb.ft)
- Remove the rear brake disc (A) by loosening the screws.
Tightening torque:
4.9 - 5.9 N.m (0.5 - 0.6 kgf.m, 3.6 - 4.3 lb.ft, 43.4 - 52.1 lb.in)
