DTC P1695-00: EMS Memory Error: General Description

The Engine Control Module (ECM) and Smart Key Module (SMK) independently stores the PIN code in the modules EEPROM. The ECM checks the information before proceeding with immobilizer authentication. When the information from both modules match, the ECM authorizes the start procedure. If information does not match, the ECM stops immobilizer authentication. Limp home function will not activate and DTC P169500 sets as pending. If DTC P169500 sets again, after performing new key teaching procedure, the ECM should be replaced.
