Removal And Installation: Removal

WARNING:
  • When working on the high voltage system, the work should be performed by technicians who have completed the relevant training. A lack of understanding of the high voltage system can lead to serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit.
  • When working on the high voltage system or related components, be sure to observe and be aware of the "HIGH VOLTAGE SYSTEM GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION AND CAUTION ". If not, it may cause serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit.
  1. Remove the front wiper motor.

    (Refer to Body Electrical System -  "WIPER MOTOR ")

  2. Remove the main crash pad assembly.

    (Refer to Crash Pad -  "MAIN CRASH PAD ASSEMBLY ")

  3. Remove the knee air bag module.

    (Refer to Restraint -  "KNEE AIRBAG (KAB) MODULE ")

  4. Remove the Integrated Central control Unit (ICU).

    (Refer to Body Electrical System -  "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ")

  5. Remove the Integrated Body Control Unit (IBU).

    (Refer to Body Electrical System -  "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ")

  6. Lower the steering column after removing the nuts and bolt.

    (Refer to Steering System -  "MDPS COLUMN AND HOUSING ")

  7. Disconnect the main wiring harness connector.
    1. Disconnect the airbag control module (SRSCM) connector (A).

    2. Disconnect the roof antenna connector (A).

    3. Disconnect the roof trim connector (A).

    4. Disconnect the multi box connectors (A).

  8. Disconnect the heater and blower unit connectors.
    1. Disconnect the interior antenna connector (A).

    2. Disconnect the PTC connector (A).

    3. Disconnect the shower duct connector (A).

    4. Disconnect the heater and blower unit connectors (A).

    5. Disconnect the evaporator sensor connector (A) and separate the wiring clip (B).

    6. Disconnect the heater control unit connectors (A).

    7. Disconnect the blower motor connector (A) and separate the wiring clip (B).

    8. Remove the wiring clips (A).

  9. Remove the driver's side shower duct screw (A).

  10. Remove the bolts (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    16.7 - 25.5 N.m (1.7 - 2.6 kgf.m, 12.3 - 18.8 lb.ft)

  11. Remove the bolts (A) after removing the hole plugs (B).

    Tightening torque: 

    16.7 - 25.5 N.m (1.7 - 2.6 kgf.m, 12.3 - 18.8 lb.ft)

  12. Remove the heater and blower unit bolts and nuts (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    6.9 - 9.8 N.m (0.7 - 1 kgf.m, 5.1 - 7.2 lb.ft)

  13. Remove the bolts and remove the cowl cross bar assembly (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    16.7 - 25.5 N.m (1.7 - 2.6 kgf.m, 12.3 - 18.8 lb.ft)

  14. Remove the main wiring harness (A).
