Front Motor And Reduction Gear Oil: Replacement
WARNING:
- When working on the high voltage system, the work should be performed by technicians who have completed the relevant training. A lack of understanding of the high voltage system can lead to serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit.
- When working on the high voltage system or related components, be sure to observe and be aware of the HIGH VOLTAGE SYSTEM GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION AND CAUTION . If not, it may cause serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit.
- When working on high voltage system, make sure to check the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and HIGH VOLTAGE SHUT-OFF PROCEDURES .
NOTE:
When checking the reduction gear oil level, be careful not to allow foreign substance (like dust) to enter through the filler hole.
- Remove the front under cover.
(Refer to Front Motor and Reduction Gear System - "FRONT UNDER COVER ")
- Prepare a clean 5 l
beaker (A) to measure the amount of oil.
- Remove the drain plug (A) and drain oil, and then reinstall the drain plug.
Tightening torque:
44.1 - 58.8 N.m (4.5 - 6.0 kgf.m, 32.5 - 43.4 lb.ft)
NOTE: The existing drain plug gasket (A) must be replaced with a new one (do not reuse). - Remove the front reduction gear cover fastener (A).
- Remove the filler plug (A).
- Fill the specified oil through the filler plug hole as much as it has been drained.
Recommended: Kia genuine ATF SP4M-1
- Install the filler plug (A).
Tightening torque:
44.1 - 58.8 N.m (4.5 - 6.0 kgf.m, 32.5 - 43.4 lb.ft)
NOTE: The existing filler plug gasket (A) must be replaced with a new one (do not reuse). - Install the front reduction gear cover fastener (A).
- Install the front under cover.
