DTC P2541-14: Low Pressure Fuel System Sensor Circuit Low: General Description

The variable fuel pump system regulates the flow rate by duty controlling the low pressure fuel pump according to the RPM and vehicle load. The mechanical regulator maintains constant transmission fuel pressure. On the other hand, the variable fuel pump delivers as much fuel as is required compared to the conventional fuel pump, resulting in lower fuel pump consumption, improved vehicle fuel efficiency, improved noise and increased life expectancy.

The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) sets the target fuel pressure according to engine conditions and passes this value to the Fuel Pump Controller (FPCM). Based on the values measured through the fuel pressure sensor, the FPCM controls the low pressure fuel pump in three phases duty control to produce the target fuel pressure.
