DTC P2096-00: Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System too Lean (Bank 1): General Description

The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) controls the exhaust gas and the A/F ratio to improve fuel efficiency based on oxygen sensor signal voltage. The control of A/F ratio is divided into short term correction of A/F ratio and long term adaptation of A/F ratio. The ideal fuel calibration value is 0%. If the upstream oxygen sensor detects that the emission status is lean, the PCM increases the fuel injection volume and the calibration value moves in the + direction. Conversely, the amount of injection is reduced if it is rich, and the calibration value is below 0%.
