DTC P0661-11: Intake Manifold Tuning Valve Control Circuit Low (Bank 1): General Description

Variable Intake Solenoid Valve (VIS) is a device that adjusts the length of the intake air flow so that maximum rotational force is generated at engine speed. In other words, at low speed, the length of intake manifold is extended to improve the low speed torque, and at high speed, the length of the intake manifold is shortened to improve the high speed torque. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) controls the VIS using signals such as engine RPM.
